I hate to admit this but I had no idea about the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians until 1990's, my eyes were open. You ask people why are they fighting( in the 1990's), is it religious or about the land...I came across a book (can't recall the title) and it told about the history of Israel.I learned from the source and that is when I became an Agnostic. I study with two young Mormons, my daughter-n law is a Mormon..I realize how can I have a intelligent conversation about your religion if I don't know what's your belief..We as JW's was well informed about every religion in the world, yes our knowledge we received from the university of the WT left no doubt we were all wise and your religion was wrong.......So today there is one religion I know it's wrong, JW.......

Do religious people fear that their religion may be wrong???
by James Mixon inbecause there are so many religions in the world and it is obvious that no matter what the truth is, a large population of people will be wrong about it.
we at one time believe we had the truth and 99% of the world population were in darkness, but i wonder about folks in other religions today.
speaking with a christian friend about this and he told me," that's for god to decide, i hope i'am serving god"...the sad thing about all of this if one die and still believe in his religion, he will never know he was in the wrong religion.

Governing Body-Part of Great Crowd
by TakeOffTheCrown init appears that the governing body members today are part of the great crowd and are not of the anointed.. to those with some knowledge of the subject, is it possible that the christian congregation would eventually be lead by those who are not anointed?

What was it like being a JW in the 1960's and 1970's
by UnshackleTheChains inthis is obviously a question for the older generation.
i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.
was the society as strict as it is today?.

"He trained himself to eat leaves for when the great tribulation arrives", I'am speechless. I wonder did the society realize they were making people nutty as a fruit cake..

Apostate carts
by Normalfulla inso i've recently been travelling about usa and mexico and of course seen the carts parked at tourist spots all over and i had a funny thought ...if somehow we could get a bunch of identical carts together and print up a placard with a few key facts about the real truth with jwfacts logo and just park them right in the same areas ,dress up in our old meeting clothes and stand about with a coffee and look on our phones i wonder what response we would get from anyone ?
or park them outside assembly's and just stand.off at a distance ...basically the same thing they do to all society !.

No need for apostate carts just walk up to their cart and announce," I love you brother or sister but I hate your organization"...Watch them load up and leave..

Forbidden Book
by snowbird inmy oldest daughter once worked at a convenience store/gas station for a muslim gentleman.. he had two sons - the older one @ university, and the younger worked with my daughter.. well, my daughter said the younger was blackmailing the older because the older was in possession of a bible!.
she also said the young man confessed to her that he often times went to a soul food joint way out in the country and ordered pork chops.
she said he told her they tasted soooo good.. lol.. sylvia.

That was the main reason why a number of blacks didn't become Muslims in the movement (60's) in the U.S.....No BBQ, are you serious....

Yes service was serious business. Evening door knocking while folks are sitting down for a nice relaxing meal, standing in front of churches when their service is let out, calling on old class mates (didn't care if they thought I was nuts I found a new religion the truth). Informing my Baptist minister, take my name of the roll I have the truth now I will not be part of Satan's organization..Bold we were and a little crazy....LOL

I personally believe most people in the world are basically good, but according to the Bible for instance Roman 3:10 it contradicts my belief. How do you like that, and JW's believe the world is full of depraved, immoral and Satan worshipers....That kind of belief will make you a little psychotic....
